Indian Association of Medical Journal Editors

The Indian Association of Medical Journal Editors is the foremost body of professionals in country incorporated to provide a forum for improving the standards of medical editing and biomedical journals in the country. It has played a stellar role in mentoring many a budding editor and holding events to improve the medical writing standards across the country.

World Association of Medical Editors

WAME (pronounced pronounced “whammy”) is a nonprofit voluntary association of editors of peer-reviewed medical journals from countries throughout the world who seek to foster international cooperation among and education of medical journal editors.

 

Medical Journal Armed Forces India

The Medical Journal Armed Forces India is a peer reviewed medical journal publishing regularly since 1945. Currently in its 75th year of continuous publication, IMPACT 2019 will be a part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the journal.

Professor of Urology & Associate Dean for Academics, AIIMS, New Delhi, India

He is Chief Editor of the Indian Journal of Urology and serves in various editorial capacities for the Journal of Urology, National Medical Journal of India, International Journal of Urology, Investigative and Clinical Urology, and the Asian Journal of Urology.

He is Secretary of the World Association of Medical Editors and the Indian Association of Medical Journal Editors. He is Co-chair of the Scientific Committee for the Société Internationale d' Urologie and
Chairman of the Scientific Committee for the Urological Association of Asia. He has published over 250 articles and book chapters and delivered over 100 lectures internationally.

Dr. Subhasree Nag is a senior solution consultant for the scientific and scholarly research division at Clarivate Analytics. She completed her M.Pharm from ICT, Mumbai, her PhD from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, USA and her post-doctoral training from Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, USA where she worked on anticancer drug discovery and pharmacokinetic modeling. She has 28 peer reviewed publications and more than 700 citations.

As part of Clarivate Analytics, she is instrumental in carrying out author workshops and designing research capacity building solutions in different institutions all over the country. Her other interests include scientometrics and bibliometric evaluation

Dr Amitabh Prakash has over 20 years of experience in biomedical publishing. Presently based in Auckland, New Zealand, he is the Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Pharmacokinetics (since 2005; Impact Factor 4.680) and the American Journal of Cardiovascular Drugs (since 2001; Impact Factor 2.578). In addition to looking after the broader area of clinical pharmacokinetics, Amitabh has been responsible for the cardiovascular content in five peer-reviewed, MEDLINE-indexed journals.

His is member of the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Dr. Aggarwal is currently working as Director, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry. Before joining JIPMER in January 2019, he worked as a faculty member in the Department of Gastroenterology at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI), Lucknow, India for over 28 years.

Rakesh Aggarwal is a gastroenterologist-hepatologist, with interest in related areas, such as epidemiology, health economics, medical research, journal editing and medical education. He worked with the Indian Journal of Gastroenterology, a MedLine-indexed journal, for more than 20 years in various capacities, including as the Editor. He was an Associate Editor of ‘Trials’ and ‘Hepatology, Medicine and Policy’, both BioMedCentral journals. He is currently an Editor of Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

He is a member of the WAME Ethics and Policy Committee and has previously been a Board Member of WAME. He has been a member of the Indian Association of Medical Journal Editors since its inception.

Dr Cariappa is an ex- military Public Health Specialist with a personal passion for sustainable health promotion among people, in co-existence with their environment.

He is an alumnus of the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, India, with a MD degree from the University of Poona. He has received Fellowship training in HIV / AIDS in the USA and is an active member of the Indian Public Health Association and the Indian Society of Malaria and Communicable Diseases. He has been an Associate Professor at the Department of Community Medicine at AFMC Pune and also at the Army College of Medical Sciences New Delhi. He has been on the Visiting Faculty at the University of Botswana at Gaborone, the IISER, Pune, for the MUHS- MPH program and with Govt Medical College Jodhpur. His areas of interest and expertise in Public Health are Mass Gathering Medicine, Environmental Medicine, Food Safety, Health and Behaviour Change Communication.

After 26 years of service in the Indian Armed Forces Medical Services, he is now with https://deltazuluconsultancy.com/ and works in an advisory capacity for the corporate sector, in translating technological advances to Health, Environmental Health, Health Safety, Health Education and Training. He is also consulting with the Tata Trusts for their Health Initiatives philanthropic projects, as a Technical Advisor.
